In recent years there have been significant advances in our understanding of the hierarchical structure, packaging, mechanical forces, and biochemistry of both the eukaryotic chromosome and the prokaryotic genophore.

This meeting seeks to bring together biophysicists, physicists, biochemists, and molecular biologists in a pleasant informal setting to discuss current research, identify the most significant outstanding questions and find integrated, interdisciplinary approaches to solving them.

This meeting is sponsored by the Biophysical Society, with additional support from the Mechanobiology Institute of the National University of Singapore (http://mbi.nus.edu.sg/).
