The Biophysical Society sponsors grants for member-hosted Networking Events which are held around the world and throughout the year. Come out and network with fellow biophysicists at one of the upcoming events, if you’re in the area!
If you would like to host an event, we will be taking applications from March 15 – April 30. More information can be found here.
The event pages will be updated as more information is provided by the organizers, stay tuned!
More on this event: This event will have an area devoted to short talks on biophysics-related topics as well as an area for hands-on workshops on image analysis using Fiji to quantify biophysical properties of different cell-types or molecules. The potential for a BPS Student Chapter will also be discussed.
More on this event: This is the second Brisbane Calcium Symposium. It will bring together three “calcium focused” labs from the University of Queensland to present talks from lab heads, postdocs, and students. In addition, international speakers from New Zealand and the USA may attend to present keynote talks.
More on this event: Career panels often do a good job of educating students about end goals, but too often the intermediate steps are neglected. Moreover, local opportunities are seldom enumerated. Here, we plan to invite early-career biophysicists and program alumni to discuss this career stage with current students. We’ll start our event with short talks, move on to a panel discussion, and end with a light reception, in which students can more informally discuss and network.
Western Canada Biophysics Networking Meeting
(Theme: Neural Mechanics and Extracellular Vesicle)
First week of September (Date TBD)
Kelowna, BC, Canada
More on this event: The one-day event will bring together biophysics researchers and students from Western Canada to share and discover the biophysics research in thematic areas. This is the second time this meeting has been held, and the theme will change each time. The goal of the meeting is to promote a stronger collaboration of biophysics programs and to attract students and researchers to biophysics research in this region. The event will be composed of talks from invited speakers, postdocs and grad students in the region. In addition, networking sessions will enhance collaboration opportunities.
