Janice L. Robertson to Receive 2025 Agnes Pockels Award in Lipids and Membrane Biophysics

ROCKVILLE, MD – The Biophysical Society is pleased to announce that Janice L. Robertson, PhD, of the Washington University in St. Louis, will receive the 2025 Agnes Pockels Award in Lipids and Membrane Biophysics. Robertson will be honored at the Society’s 69th Annual Meeting, being held in Los Angeles, California from February 15-19, 2025.

Robertson is being honored for her work advancing the experimental and computational study of membrane protein oligomerization in membranes, including identifying critical driving forces and regulation of stability by ions and lipids.

“I am delighted that Janice is recognized for her groundbreaking work on membrane protein association,” said BPS President Gabriela Popescu of the University of Buffalo. “The impact of her research on our understanding of membrane assemblies establishes her as a leader in this field.”

About the Award - The Agnes Pockels Award in Lipids and Membrane Biophysics, formerly the Avanti Award in Lipids, will be given to an investigator for outstanding contributions to advancing the field of lipids and membrane biophysics.
