The goals of the meeting are 1) To enrich the study of cytoskeletal biology by promoting a community of ideas, systems, techniques, and models across various research groups at diverse institutions. 2) To provide an opportunity to highlight the exceptional work of students and early career researchers. 3) To create a forum for trainees and early career researchers to meet and interact, share ideas, and receive feedback on their work from peers and leaders in their field.
Cytoskeletal researchers in this area span disciplines from in vitro and in vivo biochemistry, biophysics, and cell biology and couple these exciting questions with computational approaches. Yet, there are few opportunities for these extraordinary interdisciplinary groups to connect and reap the benefit of the exciting research being done in surrounding institutions. Our overall goal is to put on an event that is broad in scientific scope but intimate in structure. The event will be focused on highlighting the work of graduate students and early career researchers. We will further harness the recent success of BPS in the San Francisco community to further engage the cytoskeletal researchers and foster continued collaboration in the Bay Area.
This event will be held on October 27, 2022, in the UCSF Fisher Banquet Room.
This event is organized by BPS members Kate Cavanaugh and Henry De Belly, University of California, San Francisco.
