Biophysics is an area yet to take ground in Kenyan institutions. Masinde Muliro University of Science and Techonology and the neighboring universities so far do not offer a Bsc. in Biophysics. However, students of electronics and other graduates have done their research in biophysics. This conference brings together scholars who have researched in biophysics in order to connect together. Non-biophysicists will also be invited with a view to trigger interest in this area.
The conference will provide an opportunity for participants:
1. To listen to biophysical experts (keynote speakers) with a view of arousing interest in biophysics
2. Presentation of two papers in biophysics
3. Formation of the Biophysical Society, Kenya Student Chapter
4. Formation of a multidisciplinary committee to come up with a Bsc. Biophysics and Msc. Biophysics curriculum.
Outputs of this conference are:
1. Committees to come up with a biophysical curriculum
2. Biophysical Society, Kenya chapter
3. List of members of the Biophysical Society
4. Enlightenment on Biophysics
Those interested in attending should email the organizer, Mr. Philip Amuyunzu Mang'are: [email protected]
