This meeting explored the contributions of biophysics to our understanding of infectious diseases and focused on tuberculosis, malaria and HIV/AIDS. It provided a platform for scientists to discuss the successes, opportunities and challenges for biophysics in structural biology, molecular modeling and high resolution optical techniques in diagnostics, therapeutics and the basic science of the pathogen.
