Workshop 1: Machine Learning, and Deep Learning
Tuesday, March 9, 2021, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM USA Eastern
High throughput approaches for the study of biological systems, from genome sequencing to the fast acquisition of images, has led to the creation of datasets ripe for analysis with artificial intelligence methods. Machine learning and deep learning are forms of artificial intelligence that are now widely used in biology. This workshop will gather AI experts to discuss progress in the field.
Workshop 2: Mass Spectrometry in the Cell
Thursday, March 11, 2021, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM USA Eastern
Many important biological questions require studying molecules in cells. This workshop will focus on advances in mass spectrometry that are allowing increasingly precise quantification of molecules, primarily proteins, sometimes inside cells, sometimes even with single-cell resolution. This workshop will gather experts that will discuss applications to complex biological problems.
Workshop 3: Challenges in Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET
Tuesday, March 16, 2021, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM USA Eastern
Cryo-electron microscopy and tomography are powerful imaging tools. Despite the remarkable discoveries they have enabled, major challenges remain, especially for the application of cryo-ET for visualization of molecular complexes in cells. This workshop will focus on advances in methods and instrumentation and their application to study molecules and cells.
Workshop 4: Single-Particle Tracking
Thursday, March 18, 2021, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM USA Eastern
This workshop will bring together experts to discuss advances in technical aspects of single particle tracking methodology and their application to examine critically important questions of the properties of particles in tissues and cells.
